In 2020, Jonathan Rojas found himself struggling to keep his love of guitar alive. He had been playing since he was 15, but wasn't in love with his gear at the time. He then learned from Jake Judd at Jumblestomp, that many effects pedals are fairly simple circuits made of basic electrical components. Under Jake's guidance, Jonathan started to learn about basic circuitry and component selection, and in early 2021 he started building a pedalboard from scratch. Jonathan's obsession grew from there, and he learned how to restore and even modify tube amplifiers and guitars.
After learning some basics, Jonathan wanted to better understand circuitry and how to take a more scientific approach. He joined several online forums where, in December of 2022, he met an incredible mentor and friend, Peter Singfield. Peter is a retired electrical engineer out of London that has been analyzing and creating guitar pedals as a hobby for over 20 years. Peter was kind enough to spend several sessions teaching Jonathan how to analyze circuits, run simulations, and design pedals with a more scientific approach rather than through guess work or relying on ears alone, as he'd previously been doing.
Since mid-2022, Jonathan has been building and modifying guitar pedals as well as modifying and restoring tube amplifiers for friends, local musicians, and studios across the United States. Feedback and constant encouragement led him to finally release a pedal of his own design, and start a company to pursue his passions - making music and serving local communities.
